Why I Started Un-Marketer

15 Years in the Industry

I've spent the last 15 years inside the marketing industry — and I've seen it from every side.

The Journey

Marketing Assistant
I started as a marketing assistant in an agency, doing the small things that keep campaigns running.
In-House Marketing
Then I moved in-house to a local company — their only marketing person.
Within five years, we opened 30+ new locations, and I built an entire marketing department from scratch.
That's where I learned how powerful good marketing can be — and how easily bad marketing can destroy momentum.
My Own Agency
Later, I ran my own agency.
But I couldn't ignore the truth: to scale and stay profitable, I'd have to cut corners.
Sell tactics that looked impressive but didn't really move the numbers.
That wasn't the kind of work I could be proud of — so I shut it down.
I joined a multi-national agency as Director of Marketing and later built and sold my own AI marketing software company.

The Realization

And through all that success, one thing never stopped bothering me:
Everywhere I looked, local, family-owned businesses were being taken advantage of.
Owners who skipped their kids' games to keep the business afloat.
Couples on the edge of burnout and debt.
People who believed that if they just found the right marketing agency, it would finally turn around.
But what they got instead were contracts, retainers, and campaigns that left them worse off — while someone else got richer.

The Breaking Point

The Franchise Problem
I saw franchise owners spending $100,000+ for "done-for-you" marketing that locked them into systems they didn't control.
They paid royalties before they paid themselves.
They didn't even own their websites or leads — because that's how the franchise kept them dependent.
And I thought: enough.

The Solution

I created Un-Marketer to give power back to business owners.
To stop the guessing.
To replace the false confidence of marketing talk with truth, diagnostics, and accountability.
Our mission is simple:
Help 100 businesses in 2026 gain real marketing clarity
— the kind that saves money, restores trust, and actually works.
Because when business owners win, families stay together, local communities grow, and the economy gets stronger.

That's the kind of marketing I believe in.
